women of the earth.

my steps wind through the legs of the trees.
my feet think before I do as they avoid the deceiving roots that are emerging from the dirt.
the crunch of the leaves and sticks surround me as my sisters walk closely.
the sound is a symphony with their harmonized laughter.
we close our eyes and let the sun dance across our eyelids as we hear the song notes of the waterfall.
the sweet, cool mud beneath our bare feet grounds us and keeps us from flying off in daydream.
my sweet sisters, so beautiful and whole.
their hearts are as vibrant as the bright mineral spread across their faces.
they see me and know me as well as they see the beauty our creator has placed on this earth.
the cool water reflects their gentle words as they calm me down in my hesitation.
I follow them down the winding and steep trail, not scared of where it leads.
they show me the way to become a better woman.
they ask me to be myself and do not fear who I am.
just as they do not fear what waits for us at the end of the trail.
my sisters are women of the earth who ground me with the sound of their sweet words.
they bring me to Christ as He has blessed the ground beneath us.
